Listening to Richard Burton recite Coleridge's great poem "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" could make an engineering student change majors and begin studying English. I listen transfixed. There is nothing like this reading...anywhere on earth.
His wonderful poetry reading is a joy to listen to. Whenever I work at the computer I enjoy listening to beautiful English speech. There are not many who enunciate like Richard Burton. His r's are a thrill in themselves. If I can't be in London I listen to Burton, Juliet Stephenson and other English actors to transport me there!
Very disappointing! Imagine an LP with the needle blocked by dust! The YouTube postings are clearer than this CD version of Burton's readings. It is so muddy it is hard to understand the words at times. Save your money!
Burton's work deserves better than this!
